Umit Tokac has a Ph.D. in Measurement and Statistics at Florida State University (FSU). He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics education in his home country of Turkey and a second master’s degree from FSU in Measurement and Statistics. He worked at Center for Advancement of Learning and Assessment (CALA) as a graduate research assistant on the IES science project for three years and also worked in State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) as a psychometrician. After his graduation, he worked in Pearson Inc. as a data analyst. Currently, he is an assistant research professor of statistics at University of Missouri - St. Louis. His primary research interests are Bayesian data analysis applications in education, and adapting artificial intelligence methods to education in order to measure and monitor learners’ current proficiency, and forecast their future proficiency. He has been coauthor of papers which were presented at conferences such as AERA, APA and UAI.
